Recapte, a natural wine in a unique bottle
A workshop and a winery. A rain-fed terrace field and a wood-fired kiln. Language forces us to place the two elements in order and separate them with a conjunction. Sometimes, our way of looking at and seeing the world is like that: linear, rigid, dualistic. However, everyday life is the opposite. Unpredictable, reactive, in motion. That's what Recapte is like.

The green of new leaves in the sun. The smell of damp clay. We close our eyes. Life is activated in the tank, the environment is altered. In the kiln, mineral particles scream and seek a new place. What was once a tree feeds the fire. What was once fruit is now fermentation. Wine and vessel. We are not talking about two processes, but something else, because where is the separation?
Beauty can lie in understanding the territory we inhabit, its rhythms, what it offers and its limits; imagining, creating, recovering the ancestral knowledge of those who preceded us here. In the territory we inhabit and that inhabits us.

A collaboration between a micro-winery and a ceramic studio, a first batch of 26 bottles of orange wine made from white Messeguera grapes grown on 80 years old vines in southeast Spain, vintage 2023.
Born to last, each year a new edition will launch, presenting a different wine, always natural, always in a woodfired bottle.

Rectapte is a joint project and our intoxicating delirium. Our utopia materialized, where guilds discover each other and fall in love. The culmination of our recalcitrant ingenuity in trying to build something in which to find ourselves.

Wine process:
Six days of maceration with the skin, aged without barrel inside the clay bottle. 500-litre vats at 20º for 15 days. Made naturally, with spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts and minimal intervention in the winery. No chemicals nor sulphites added. Unfiltered and unclarified.

Farming process:
Sustainable agriculture, strict dry farming and traditional goblet pruning. Harvested manually in 15 kg boxes in the early hours of the morning, transporting the grapes directly to the micro-winery.

Bottle process:
Each bottle is handcrafted from stoneware and fired in Estudio Vernís wood-kiln and is individually numbered. The stopper is made of natural cork, sealed with beeswax. The label is recycled paper glued with corn starch.
